About Marilynn
Marilynn Joyner is a founder, investor, and advisor committed to helping women build intentional careers, companies, and communities.
Grounded in Experience
Marilynn has spent over a decade in commercial real estate—an industry where leadership is male-dominated and access to mentorship, capital, and career support often falls short for women.
Her experience navigating those challenges inspired her to launch Her Workplace—an AI-powered career resources platform connecting, supporting, and elevating Gen Z and Millennial women.
Today, Her Workplace has grown into a thriving network of over 50,000 women, offering support, mentorship, and resources to help members lead with intention and navigate their careers with confidence.
Leading with Strategy
Marilynn is also the founder of Canvas, a commercial real estate advisory firm that partners with startups to align their real estate strategy with growth—offering tailored brokerage and consulting services, and strategic support as both an advisor and investor.
Beyond her ventures, Marilynn advises, invests in, and consults for early-stage startups—particularly those led by underrepresented founders who are building intentional, scalable solutions and community-driven brands.
Transforming the Landscape for the Next Generation of Leaders
Marilynn offers career coaching for women navigating transitions, pivots, and leadership growth, and partners with organizations through speaking engagements, and workshops.
Her work with companies centers on building inclusive, engaging professional development programs—helping teams strengthen their internal networks, elevate personal brands, and better support the women within their workforce.
Marilynn holds an MBA from both Columbia Business School and London Business School, as well as a Master’s in Real Estate from Georgetown University.
